One of the most eagerly awaited theatrical releases of 2012, Leon Schuster’s Mad Buddies, has completed filming across Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Leon Ernest “Schuks” Schuster
(born May 21, 1951) is a South African filmmaker, comedian, actor, presenter and singer.

He  is South Africa’s foremost prankster and the mastermind behind the phenomenally successful comedy feature, “Mr Bones” and Schuks Tshabalala’s Survival Guide to South Africa 2010“.  Leon was drawn to the filmmaking process at an early age and fondly recalls how, as children he and his brother would play practical jokes on his family and film their escapades with an old home movie camera. Do you think that comedy is a good way to create light political commentary?

Many filmmakers have used this medium to do just that. This is the first time I have incorporated political satire into my candid-camera gags. Racism is such a sensitive issue worldwide, but it is a reality and I poke fun at it. Also, my audience expects me to be politically risky. Read more
